Modern and Traditional Our Facility

The Patrick J. Murphy & Associates, Inc., workshop is located in Stowe, Pennsylvania approximately 35 miles northwest of Philadelphia.  It is a fully equipped 15,000 square foot work space that has evolved over time into an efficient, organbuilding facility ideally suited to our needs.  It combines the modern with the traditional, allowing suitable conditions for all organ projects.

It is divided into 4 areas, plus various administrative offices for the staff, to support the various segments of organbuilding.  These are:

1. The Here you will find all of the modern woodworking equipment and tools our skilled craftsmen use for fine cabinet making and ample open space for project assembly, all in a bright, open area, ideal for this type of work.  The entire woodworking phase of all projects begin here; from milling of lumber, to chest and consolemanufacturing, toframing and expression shutters, to casework design, construction and assembly.
2. The Erecting Room. This large open area is the first you will encounter upon entry into our facility.  In this large area, all completed projects, whether new or rebuilt, are erected and tested before being dismantled and installed at the customer’s site. This area also serves as an overflow workshop area when needed.
3. Our Workshop. This area is subdivided into two areas.  The first area is designated for small repairs, re-leathering and other service-related projects.  The second area is where console rebuilds, new console electrical installation and other wiring and electrical work.
4. Pipe Repair and Voicing Room. This area consists of a large workshop dedicated to all aspects of pipework processing: a wash area for cleaning of pipes, large work tables for pipework repairs, and a solder station for mitering and metal repairs.  Second is our Voicing Room, where all in-house voicing and tonal finishing, and pipework regulation is completed by our Tonal Director, Fredrick Bahr.

Throughout our facility, our craftsmen use state-of-the-art technology and machinery, yet still perform specific tasks in the time-honored method of traditional organbuilding that excellence requires.Throughout these areas craftsmanship and attention to detail are in evidence every day.
